YouTube is instituting sweeping changes in the coming days to the way music is uploaded, downloaded, and streamed on their site. For artists to be allowed to upload content to YouTube they must have reached some sort of prior agreement with YouTube, and such agreements Indie labels feel are "less than fair." YouTube stated that "it is our responsibility to our users and the industry to launch the enhanced music experience." YouTube states they have reached agreements with 90% of the industry, so they are moving forward with their plans.

After reading this story, my opinion of Google has been impacted negatively. Their attitudes, views, and actions are fairly reminiscent of Robber Baron times. I can find no motive for this change in service other than greed. What are your opinions about YouTube's change in policy and service?
